Please visit the School of Public Health website to see the full admissions criteria and other program information.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which we know has affected people in many ways, we're allowing late applications for our program for the Fall 2020 semester, which starts on August 24. If you are interested in applying, you will need to follow several steps. Please feel free to contact Dr. Emily Schmied, the Program Director, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about this process or the program itself.
If you're interested in applying, please complete the following steps by May 24:
- Create an account in Cal State Apply and generate a CAS ID number. Do not attempt to complete the application at this point, only create an account and generate the ID number.
- Create an account in SOPHAS and generate a CAS ID number. Do not attempt to complete the application at this point, only create an account and generate the ID number.
- Send an email to the Program Director, Emily Schmied, at email@example.com, with:
a. the ID numbers generated when you opened your Cal State Apply and SOPHAS accounts
b. your résumé or CV indicating your current employment status
c. an unofficial transcript, if available
Once we receive this information, it will be forwarded to the Admissions Office and your applications will be opened.
At this point, you will receive further instructions on how to complete and submit the applications. You will need to be prepared to request and submit your official transcripts immediately after your application is opened. A personal statement is required as part of the SOPHAS application. You will also need to submit GRE scores at this time if they are available. If you have not yet completed the GRE, you will be required to submit your scores by the end of the first online semester, which is in mid-October.
We would also like to invite you to a webinar so you can get a program overview, learn how to apply, and participate in a Q&A.
